Resurrection

Resurrection, the last novel written by Tolstoy, was published in 1899. in this long novel, Tolstoy intended to expose the injustice of man-made laws and the hypocrisy of institutionalized church. Although he was excommunicated by the Russian Orthodox Church after the publication of the novel, he was considered one of the most Christian writers of the world, as well as a cult figüre for radical anarchists.
