The present book is a revised and enlarged edition of the archaeological guide to the ruins of Turkey, which was first published in 1969. It covers the period from prehistoric times to the end of the Roman era. The book has been written for those interested in archeology and ancient history, as well as for the specialist. Detailed information about the ruins is presented in the main text, which is intented to be read before the sites are visited. The plans and photographs are provided with concise captions so that basic information concerning each site can be read on the spot.
